Momoko Ando's delicately-nuanced portrait of the relationship between two women in contemporary Tokyo is now out on DVD. The film, featuring new music by ex-Smashing Pumpkins guitarist James Iha and starring Hikari Mitsushima from 'Love Exposure', has received rave reviews all over the world at festivals as well as during its theatrical run in the UK when Electric Sheep called the film "beautiful, surreal, romantic and personal" and Matthew Turner of View London said the film had "strong direction, a superb script and terrific performances". 'Kakera' even made it into some Top 10 lists with both Jasper Sharp and Jason Gray listing it in their top 10 Japanese films of 2009.

The DVD features an anamorphic widescreen transfer, removable subtitles, an interview with Momoko Ando, footage from the UK theatrical premiere with post-screening Q&A, theatrical trailer and trailers of other Third Window Films releases.
