Melancholic
Out September 7th
The indie film which in Japan was dubbed the One Cut of the Dead of 2019!
Like One Cut, Melancholic is a low-budget, high concept Japanese debut feature film which was made through a workshop system, then like One Cut opened on 2 cinema screens where it sold out every screening for weeks, before opening to a large scale and continuing to sell out for months! Like One Cut, Melancholic's international premiere was at the Udine Far East Film Festival, where like One Cut it won an award before going onto winning Audience Awards at other international film festivals before winning the Kaneto Shindo Award for new talent back in Japan!
Despite having graduated from the prestigious Tokyo University, Kazuhiko is unemployed and living with his parents without any plans for the future. Everything changes, however, when he takes up a job at a local bathhouse and discovers that it is used by the yakuza as a convenient place for executions and corpse disposal.

Black test Car / The Black Report
Japanese maverick director Yasuzo Masumura (Blind Beast) helms a bitingly satirical espionage thriller set in the heart of the Japanese auto industry in his 1962 landmark Black Test Car, which launched a series of similarly themed “Black” films.
Making its worldwide Blu-ray debut, Black Test Car is paired here with the English-language video premiere of its follow-up The Black Report, also directed by Masumura.
