Banmei Takahashi's 1988 home-invasion thriller DOOR, a film made by the Directors Company, was seemingly lost in obscurity until its negative master was discovered in 2022 by producer Takashi Ikoma (producer of Kiyoshi Kurosawa's The Guard from Underground).
Now, 35 years after it was made, the film has a brand new digital remaster and is making its way to audiences outside of Japan for the first time ever!
This October, DOOR will play 10 film festivals across 8 countries before making its world bluray debut on October 30th from Third Window Films!

London Korean Film Festival

Following the announcement of the London Korean Film Festival’s (LKFF) upcoming 18th edition which gives special commemoration to the 40th Anniversary of the Korean Academy of Film Arts (KAFA), the festival is delighted to reveal its 2023 programme. At the BFI Southbank, the London Korean Film Festival will host the Opening and Closing ceremonies in celebration of the 140th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the UK and Korea .
The Festival runs from 2 November – 16 November 2023 with a programme of 40 films comprising the following strands: Cinema Now, Special Focus : 40th Anniversary of KAFA, Women’s Voices, Special Screenings and Korea Season.

Sublime ethereal minimalism from Hiroyuki Onogawa on this retrospective compilation album, the ﬁrst dedicated release and remaster of his soundtrack compositions.
The album August in the Water: Music for Film 1995-2005 plots a decade of Onogawa’s compositions for ﬁlms by the renowned ﬁlmmaker Gakuryū Ishii (formally known as Sogo Ishii).
This release includes specially commissioned liner notes by writer Tony Rayns, and words by Gakuryū Ishii. Artwork and design is by 12:01.
